Genevieve was one of many Nigerian starlets hailed at the recent Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. But all the attention she received wasn’t positive. The Nollywood beauty changed from her bright yellow gown into this Bridget Awosika designed, off-white, cleavage bearing number. We personally think the dress is lovely, but Genny has been getting some criticism for showing “too much skin.” According to Vanguard:
It’s not the Genevieve Nnaji everyone used to know. She flicked across the red carpet and photographers, cameramen fell over themselves; pausing when she paused and falling apart again when she moved.
She was bold, staring everyone in the eye. She answered questions and still had that mighty presence that made her Genevieve Nnaji … but her dress was the ticking attention.
Clearly not all of the eyes and mouths popped because they felt she looked stunning. Genny is at the moment being lashed left and right on on-line media and social networks.
It is important to note here that Genevieve was not the only celebrity wearing a dress that showed a lot of skin, Karen Igho of Big Brother Africa was also in a daring dress of her own with half her cleavage exposed.
However it’s Genevieve Nnaji everyone is talking about. Her critics claim the dress was outrageous and completely undeserving of the character she had etched for herself over these years. Her formidable supporters however feel other wise. In their generous chorus, they insist Genny only tried to make a statement as a very dynamic and unpredictable woman backing up their claim with the fact that she had quickly switched back to a more modest yellow clad dress that had her amply covered.
Nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012 and one of nine films that made the 2013 Oscar shortlist for the foreign-language films, War Witch is a gripping and intensifying film that’s a must watch.

KOMONA, a 14 year old girl, tells her unborn child the story of how she became a rebel. It all began when she was 12; kidnapped by the rebel army, she was forced to carry an AK 47 and kill. Her only escape and friend is MAGICIAN, a 15 year old boy who wants to marry her. Despite the horrors and daily grind of war, Komona and Magician fall in love.
They thought they had escaped the war, but fate decided otherwise. In order to survive, Komona will need to return to where she came from and make amends with her past. Around them, war rages on…. A tale set in Sub-Saharan Africa, KOMONA is a love story between two young souls caught in a violent world yet filled with beauty and magic.
Then came the movie “4PLAY” in which the pair engaged in what was considered one of the most explicit scenes possible in an African movie and they seem to have had no problem with it but rather just savored the moment and enjoyed their respective roles.
From just being professional actors on movie sets, the pair have built a very good friendship and get along so well relative to how they relate with other peers in the acting scene.
Yvonne has been reported to be in one relationship after the other, with the most recent one being with Afro pop artiste Ice Prince who came out to deny any such relationship between the two.
In John’s case however, he has not apparently been lucky with the women he has dated and is a bit unsure about his current relationship and whether it will be the same situation as with his previous ones.
So the question therefore arises; if the two of them have such great chemistry on and off the screen, shouldn’t they just get along, build a relationship, and possibly just get married?

Perhaps jolted by the unexpected nature of questioning, the actor let out a brief laugh when I asked which one role he’d so much love to play. He said “one role that I’ve been looking forward to playing is the role of a saint…one of my great actors of all time is Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal) because of the eccentricity this guy has.
